SYS Needs Volunteers!

Because Shrewsbury Youth Soccer is comprised entirely of volunteers, we always need parental assistance.  We request that you sign up to volunteer for one of the positions listed on the player registration form.

How to Help SYS...

• Become a Coach or Assistant Coach
  
  We are especially seeking coaches and/or assistant coaches. For new coaches, SYS provides a coaching clinic at the start of each season.  The SYS coaching clinic prepares a parent who is interested, but inexperienced to coach a youth soccer team.  One or two assistants may work together on one team.  SYS also provides resources online in the coaches section of this website.
  


• Referees
  
  We also need referees.  SYS provides training and pay to our student referees.  Please see the referees section of this website for more information.
  


• Snack Shack Volunteers
  
  One of the ways SYS is able to keep the cost down for parents is by running a successful concession stand (the "Snack Shack" located at the Municipal fields, across from Paton School).  It only happens if people will volunteer some of their time to help.
  
  We will attempt to make a schedule available to parents and coaches as early in each season as possible so parents would be able to find the most convenient time to help for an hour in their busy schedules here or there.
  
  Since most parents attend games, please help by stopping by the Snack Shack at your child’s next game, ask about the schedule, or inquire by sending an e-mail to your child's coach, or better yet - contact SYS and tell us that you want to VOLUNTEER NOW!.  We would be grateful beyond words.
  
  The Snack Shack will open will be open Saturday’s from 9:00am – 1:00pm.  Stop by and purchase snacks, drinks, and Shrewsbury Youth Soccer T-Shirts.
